Letter From the President - WGLL

Hello Winter Garden Families,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing this letter because I’ve heard of concerns being raised
about the upcoming spring season, and I’m hoping to reassure you the Winter Garden Little League is
moving ahead with the upcoming spring season. Little League International is moving forward with the
spring season, including (All Star) tournament play, and has provided us with guidance on how to
conduct a full season while following recommendations from the CDC. The Winter Garden Little League
board of directors is working closely with the City of Winter Garden to ensure our season is played in its
entirety, while keeping our players’ and families’ safety at the forefront.

This past fall we were able to play a 10 week “Sandlot” style baseball season with minimal interruptions.
There were safety measures in place such as social distancing, enhanced cleaning procedures, and the
requirement of face coverings for all spectators and players while they were not actively playing the
game. Although we have not finalized the requirements for the upcoming season, please rest assured
we are doing everything we can to have as close to a normal season as possible while still keeping the
safety of everyone involved as our number one priority.

As to be expected, our current registration numbers are a bit lower than normal due to the
circumstances we are all facing. However, based on the current registration numbers we are on track to
be able to field teams in each division from T-ball – Juniors.

I am asking for the support of our baseball community. Please let your friends, neighbors, and
teammates know that we are doing whatever it takes to make the spring season a successful one for all
of the amazing families of Winter Garden.
